Writing for us

Arts and Minds is the official blog of the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and is the ideal platform to tell both the wider academic community and general public about your research; share top tips and pen opinion pieces on the sector more widely.

The blog is divided into four categories:

  • Meet the Researcher: Interviews with AHRC-funded researchers
  • Research spotlight: Informative blog posts showcasing arts and humanities research
  • Viewpoint: Thought leadership pieces on arts and humanities
  • Top tips: Practical tips, advice and inspiration for researchers

Word Count and Audience

Blog entries are typically fairly short, informal and focused pieces of writing that aim to make a simple point well. They should be between 400 – 900 words and ideally no longer. Blog posts are not designed for presenting detailed, fully referenced arguments, instead your writing should be clear, concise and conversational in tone.

Our blog posts are also read by those outside of academia giving you the chance to reach and appeal to a wider audience.

If you are interested in writing a blog post for the AHRC, then you can either pitch an idea to us via email engage@ahrc.ukri.org or head over to our contact page to get in touch. Please include a brief synopsis of up to 250 words together with a working title, your contact details and if possible, a brief bio.

We look forward to hearing from you!
